Brother Horbeck was one of the elders of the BMA from its beginning. A contemporary of Brother Varnell, his mild, loving spirit was always an inspiration to everyone who knew him. He was probably most famous, however, for yielding two of his daughters to BMA pastors Richard Schwambach of Evansville and Bruce Badger of Leroy. These two daughters did much to ensure the success of their husbands' ministries and testified of the fatherly wisdom of Brother Horbeck throughout their lives.
