The Cuban 8 is a pretty cool maneuver. Just like a loop, you pull through the top toward the ground.
What is different is that at about 45 degrees nose low "on the back side", instead of pulling the rest of the way through, you instead do a half roll.
Then you pick up airspeed in the dive and start the same maneuver back to the opposite direction.
The maneuver is complete when you end up where you started. Viewed from the side, you can see why it is called an "8".
This maneuver is usually done to set up for another acro maneuver, so it is often not done with both loops. Also, it's a little easier on the body than a full 4G loop. You wimp!!
