Greetings from Nepal in the name of Jesus

I hope all our brothers and sisters are doing great by His Grace. I am personally appreciate your continue love, prayer and care.

The mountain ministry is ongoing wonderfully, stretching its tent bigger and bigger day by day by His Grace through his faithful workers. Our Christian brothers and sisters are going through lots of difficulties after receiving Jesus Christ as their Savior. Some are chased-out by family, some are abandoned by husband or wife and some are beaten by people. These are the main identities of the Christian people in the mountains. Praise the Lord, all glories to the Lord Jesus Christ. We know that to achieve anything or reach the target, we have to pay the cost. Our believers are paying the cost of Jesus being their Redeemer. How wonderful it is, isn’t it?

As before, Lord has been favoring our people in the ministry. From Deun village, one family has received Jesus Christ as their Savior. Similarly from Shyameer Village another one family has been chosen by our Lord Jesus Christ. In Laprak and Pathi also one new soul each village has received Jesus Christ as their Savior. From Ranchowk-kyora Church, two new Souls have received Jesus Christ as their Savior. Praise the Lord!!!!!! Please pray for our Leader Moti Gurung. He is from Gumda and was beaten on the way to Khani Benshi when he was visiting to minister in the village on 25 January 2014 morning. He did not know how many people were there, he was confused; but our Lord favored him to escape from having serious injury in the beating. He thought he probably got two-three punches from the attackers. After the fellowship our believers, including Moti Lal, informed the local leaders and villagers about the attack.

Anita Gurung: She is from Gumda, aged 40 and has two kids. She received Jesus Christ two years ago. Since that she has been abandoned by her husband. Her husband name is Ruk Bahadur Gurung, doing hotel business in Dang. Her kids have also been kept away from her these two years. She has never seen her kids since she has been abandoned. Her husband never visited to Gumda and Anita is not being accepted by Ruk’s family members as well. Fortunately, I got the opportunity to meet both husband and wife in Kathmandu. Ruk visited KTM (Kathmandu) for hotel business and Anita came to meet us to talk with her husband as someone had informed her that her husband was visiting to KTM. We had a series of meetings on 22 and 23 January morning and evening. Her husband wants her to leave Jesus Christ but his wife doesn’t want to do that. We could not convince her husband. Finally her husband agreed to let Anita live with her kids. Please pray for Ruk.

Hepatitis B affected Family: The Hepatitis B affected family is Christian and recently Doctor has prescribed Tenvir to take for a year. It costs NPR 2400 (@25.00 U.S.) for a person for one month. There are four members in the family. It means for a month NPR 9600 (@100.00 U.S.) required for the medicines. I got an opportunity to talk with the CEO of Sapana Enterprise. This enterprise supplies medicines to Nepal. We were good friends when I used to work for Lalgadh Hospital. Now this enterprise promised to support medicine for six months. Praise the Lord!

The ministry in the mountains is getting bigger and bigger by either being involved in the people’s sorrows or by the miracle works in the power of Holy-Spirit. Here is the short story about Baluwang village. In this village, we can get after 3-4 days walking from a motor-able road, just above one hour walking distance from Jagat village. Kaji Gurung is the leader of Baluwang Church. He is a porter by trade. About six years ago (exactly I don’t know the date) he received Jesus Christ from Pastor Dal. In fact he is totally not the normal man. He and his wife, both are kind of abnormal. (By this, Bro. Shaktaman means he can't read or express himself very well. Slow in understanding.(Walter)) What I mean, in fact, he doesn’t understand, though our Lord is working through him. I think, in the eyes of the Lord his heart probably better than many others. Lord knows. He received Jesus Christ and later he took baptism. He learned how to pray. He got about a month Bible training in Pokhara by arrangement of Pastor Dal but we don’t know how much he understands. Even the whole villagers, they don’t know really what a Christian is and who Jesus Christ is. But if anybody in the village gets sick, just Kaji excited to go and pray because he learned in the training that by prayer people can get healed. He has that kind of faith in the Lord and the Lord works on his faith. When he prays people gets healed. Then people of this village started to visit Kaji’s house instead of going to Buddhist Priests and Witch-doctors. People just received Jesus Christ considering Kaji’s God is greater that their God. In this way whole village became Christians. As you know brothers and sisters; there is no school and any medical facilities. Our Lord is only their Doctor. I think, our Brother Jeff and Pat could better explain about the situation of this village. If you don’t take good care going to this village with six inch of trail, you will soon get to our Heavenly Father’s house. I believe that your prayers for the unreached areas are really working in very different ways that you/we ever experienced.

Please continue to pray for the Leaders in the mountains. We need many leaders to work in the mountains. Our Lord is walking through new villages and touching people but we don’t have leaders in many places. There is a training center, Shepherd Training Institute, where from 10 February a training program going to be started for 3 and half months. Pastor Bishnu is going to send 3 – 5 leaders from the mountain. We need to pray for their families, outreach expenses and for their daily living pocket money.

Also, please pray for an orphanage home for the children of Gumda who lost their parents in the bus accident in Dhading about two years ago. I don’t understand how to manage these kids. They are our believers and they brought these children in Kathmandu without any planning and notification. I was surprised as there are so many orphanage homes, because almost all churches are running orphanages in Kathmandu, but I couldn't get a place for these kids.
